What it is
BGMI Air is KRAFTON’s lighter Android version of Battlegrounds Mobile India. The official listing describes it as a lighter way to play the same battlegrounds — not a cut-down arcade game with a different rulebook.
Players first heard it as BGMI Lite. On 15 October 2026, KRAFTON India started using the Air name in public. The Google Play package is still com.krafton.bgmilite, so a “new name” APK from anywhere else is a warning sign, not an upgrade.
If you searched for a BGMI Air APK download, the honest answer today is Google Play pre-registration. KRAFTON has pointed to a launch later in 2026. This site will not invent a day, a live version code, or a sideload file.
For first-party news, watch the Play Store listing, the BGMI website, and the BGMI Air Instagram channel. Pages here only repeat what those channels and reputable coverage support.

Why Air exists
KRAFTON built BGMI Air for Indian phones that run out of storage or drop frames in the full client. The idea is simple: keep the same battlegrounds, ask less of the hardware.
01
Air is meant to keep the same graphics and physics bar as BGMI, not a cut-down arcade version. What it trims is RAM pressure and heat on mid-range and budget processors, so fights stay readable instead of turning into a slideshow.
02
You should not have to sit through extra mandatory resource packs before the first match. After the initial install — publicly described around 860 MB to 1 GB — you can drop into Erangel and play. Extra maps wait until you actually want them.
03
A modular download manager lets you add maps such as Miramar, Sanhok, or Livik, plus audio packs, only if you need them. Remove unused assets later and reclaim storage without uninstalling the whole game.
04
Log in with the BGMI ID you already have. There is no separate ID-transfer product. Unlocked inventory — weapon skins, glacier sets, mythic outfits, vehicle wraps, and other owned cosmetics — is described as carrying over with the same account.
05
Friends on the regular BGMI app do not get left behind. Official listing copy describes Solo, Duo, and Squad matchmaking across both clients, so the lighter install does not split your group.
06
BGMI Air is positioned to stay in step with the main client: Royale Pass seasons, festival events, custom rooms, and weapon balance updates. You are not meant to live on a delayed or stripped calendar.
How the clients differ
Air is the India-focused lighter client. Standard BGMI is the full install. PUBG Mobile Flash is the international lightweight release — useful as a size reference, not a substitute listing for Indian players.

Can your phone run it?
BGMI Air is aimed at the Android phones most people in India actually use — not only flagships. Specs below are compiled from publisher positioning and public reports. They can still change before launch, so trust the Play Store listing on your own device if the two disagree.
Entry bar
Enough to install and play on Smooth. Expect heat and dips in busy circles.
Comfortable play
Better headroom for 60 FPS, extra maps, and longer sessions without thermal throttling.
Some earlier coverage cited 1.5 GB RAM and an Adreno 306 GPU as the floor. If Google Play hides the listing on your phone, trust the store over any table. Full walkthrough: BGMI Air Android requirements.
